The Island of Capri The enchanting island of Capri of is known throughout the world as a playground for the rich and famous. As you wander the little streets and alleyways and take a boat tour you are sure to bump into local and international VIPs. There is however, much more to this famous island with hidden jewels throughout for those willing to go a little off the beaten track. Piazzetta The famous Piazzetta - the central piazza lined with bars and cafes - is just minutes away from the Hotel Regina Cristina Capri. Just off the Piazza you will discover many typical Capri stores and higher end boutiques including Gucci, Prada, Armani and many more! We are a 20-minute walk from the famous Faraglioni Beach. The Faraglioni rocks are the unofficial symbol of Capri. Monastery of San Giacomo Nearby is the famous Monastery of San Giacomo built in the middle ages and is a classic example of Caprese architecture. The monastery also houses the beautiful gardens of Augustus. Arriving by Boat All boats arriving from the surrounding areas will bring you to the Marina Grande. The easiest way to reach the Capri Hotel Regina Cristina is to take the cable car from the port. This cable car will bring you to the central piazza in only five minutes. The cable car departs every 15 minutes (more frequently in peak times). From the main piazza take Via Vittorio Emanuele and you will reach the Regina Cristina in approximately 5 minutes. Peak Season Please note that during the peak season (usually from Easter to the last week of October) cars not registered to residents on the island of Capri cannot circulate on the island. Should you arrive to Capri with a vehicle you must leave it at one of the various car parks near the Port.
