The Amalfi Coast You will find the winding Amalfi Coast further down south of the peninsular. Along this incredibly scenic coast the most famous towns are Amalfi, Positano and Ravello. Each one is unique and glorious in its own right. Amalfi’s origins date back to the first century AD when the Romans built luxury villas. The town thrived on Mediterranean commerce and today the Amalfi Coast still maintains its fishing traditions.Positano Considered by many as the most picturesque town along this coast, Positano is built steep into the hills and it characterised by the hundreds of steps that constitute streets! With its pastel-coloured houses vying for the best views of the sea and the stunning beaches, Positano is undeniably exquisite.
Ravello Situated high above the Amalfi coast, Ravello is known as the city of music. Every summer a musical festival takes place here in honour of Richard Wagner. Ravello’s many attractions include the Duomo, Villa Cimbrone and Villa Rufolo.
